We are seeking a Sports Instructor to engage and motivate students with SEMH needs through structured physical education sessions. Your role will focus on building confidence, teamwork, and resilience while providing a supportive and structured environment for students to thrive.
This specialist setting provides tailored education and support for students with additional social, emotional, and mental health needs. With a strong focus on outdoor learning and personal development, it helps students gain confidence, resilience, and key life skills. The school's holistic approach ensures that every student is supported in both their education and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging sports and physical activity sessions tailored to students with SEMH needs.
- Promote positive behaviour, teamwork, and emotional well-being through structured activities.
- Support students in developing self-confidence, discipline, and resilience through sport.
- Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to integrate physical education into the wider curriculum.
- Create a safe and inclusive environment where every student feels encouraged to participate.
Requirements
- Experience in sports coaching, PE instruction, or a related role (working with SEMH students is a plus).
- A passion for using sport to support emotional and social development.
- Eligible to work in the UK without any sponsorship.
- Possess an Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to get one.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- A proactive, patient, and adaptable approach to working with students with additional needs.
