We are seeking full-time SEMH Teaching Assistants to work with students across Key Stages 2, 3, and 4 in the LS10 area. This role involves supporting children with additional learning and behavioural needs. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
This school, located in the Leeds LS10 area, is dedicated to supporting young people with SEMH challenges. Role and Responsibilities:
... - Provide focused support to students with SEMH needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning.
- Work 1:1 or in small groups to deliver tailored interventions, ensuring students are engaged in both academic and emotional development.
- Assist the classroom teacher in managing behaviour and creating a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Offer emotional and behavioural support, helping students to regulate and develop positive coping strategies.
- Monitor student progress and contribute to individual education plans (IEPs).
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people who have social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- A minimum of Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of SEMH and the ability to implement strategies to support students.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to build strong relationships with vulnerable learners.
- Eligible to work in the UK (No Sponsorship).
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
