SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (equivalent to £20,941.30 - £22,835.30 annually, depending on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time Only
We are seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1-2) to join our team in Darwen, supporting students aged 10-19 with complex needs, including Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and related conditions.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide valuable support to students, helping them with both their academic and personal growth. Working alongside the class teacher, you will assist in planning and delivering individualised lessons, creating a positive and encouraging learning environment. You will also play a key role in behaviour management and promoting student well-being.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, delivering, and evaluating learning activities.
- Provide regular feedback on student progress and development.
- Help students remain focused during lessons and support behaviour management.
- Keep detailed records of student progress in line with school policies.
- Promote the academic, social, and emotional development of students.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience working with children who have special educational needs (SEN).
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for student transport on a rota).
- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - required.
- A Level 2 or higher qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
