Key Responsibilities:
- Targeted Support: Provide focused assistance to students with various SEN, adapting strategies to meet their individual learning, social, and emotional needs.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other educational professionals to effectively implement personalised support plans.
- Inclusive Education Assistance: Help facilitate an inclusive educational environment, aiding in the modification of lessons to suit SEN students' needs and abilities.
- Communication Facilitator: Act as a communication link between the school, students, and their families to keep all parties informed and engaged in the educational process.
- Behaviour Management: Assist in managing classroom behaviour, providing a stable, supportive environment that encourages positive social interactions.
- Emotional and Educational Support: Provide emotional support and guidance, helping students develop coping strategies and resilience in their educational journey.
Requirements:
- Relevant Experience: Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with SEN students.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with children, families, and school staff.
- Passion for Education: A genuine desire to assist children with special educational needs.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to varying educational scenarios and student needs promptly.
- Educational Background: Ideally, a background in education, psychology, or a related field; additional training or qualifications in SEN support is highly advantageous.
