We have an exciting opportunity for you at this brand-new SEN school in Wilmslow, established in April 2023, designed to support up to 50 students.
This school provides specialised education for children and young people aged 5 to 19 with complex communication needs, often linked with Autism spectrum conditions. Their mission is to deliver an exceptional educational experience, inspired by their neighboring 'Outstanding' rated school.
We are on the lookout for experienced Level 3 qualified SEN Teaching Assistants to join this dynamic team.
Role Summary:
As a committed SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting the learning and well-being of the students, helping them to reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment. Your responsibilities will include assisting with care needs, implementing tailored positive behaviour management strategies, and building supportive relationships that promote independence and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the emotional and educational development of students, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with class teachers to deliver engaging and tailored educational activities.
- Adapt to the evolving needs of the school environment, providing assistance as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in SEN settings, either professionally or voluntarily.
- A full UK driving license and access to own transportation (preferred).
- GCSEs in Maths and English at Level 3 or above (required).
- Level 3 qualification in Support Work for Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
- Experience working with SEN or SEMH/ASD students.
- Flexibility, creativity, and a child-centric approach.
