About the Role:

Are you an experienced Science Teacher looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Science Teacher to join a specialist school in Leyland, supporting students aged 9-16 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

As a Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging and tailored lessons to small class sizes (no more than 8 students), ensuring that every learner receives the support they need to thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons following a broad and balanced curriculum.
Support students in developing their confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
Assess, track, and report pupil progress, ensuring personalised learning approaches.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other professionals to provide a holistic learning experience.
Safeguard and promote the welfare of all students, following the school's policies.
Provide guidance and support to Assistant Teachers and Higher Level Teaching Assistants.
Contribute to staff meetings, multi-disciplinary team discussions, and professional development.

Qualifications & Experience:

PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed, or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience working with students with SEN, SEMH, SLD, PMLD, or ASD.
Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
Experience managing a range of behaviour strategies, including de-escalation techniques.
