Special Needs Assistant - Lancaster

Randstad Education is recruiting Special Needs Assistants to work in primary schools throughout Lancaster. You will support children with a range of SEN needs, including Autism, ADHD, behavioural challenges, cognitive and global delays, Down syndrome, and hearing impairments. Your placement will be tailored based on your experience and qualifications to ensure a perfect match for the child's needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to meet the individual needs of children with SEN.
- Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO to plan and deliver effective support.
- Work closely with other professionals, such as teachers, teaching assistants, and specialist staff.
- Assist in small group settings or on a 1:1 basis, supporting both academic and personal development.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to support children's confidence and growth.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people, especially those with SEN.
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviours and engaging with children.
- Ability to build strong relationships and adapt to the needs of each student.
- Creative, flexible, and proactive in your approach to support.
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant SEN experience.
