About the Role:
We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join our pool of supply staff, covering various primary schools in the LS9 area of Leeds. As a supply member of staff, you will work on a flexible, as-needed basis, providing invaluable support to pupils with a wide range of special educational needs (SEN) in various school settings. This role offers variety and the chance to broaden your experience while working with different teams and students.
The successful candidate will be a dedicated professional with a passion for supporting children with SEN. Experience working in UK schools as a dedicated SEN TA is crucial for this role. We're looking for someone with exceptional adaptability, resilience and a can-do attitude who can seamlessly integrate into new school environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing high-quality, one-to-one and group support to pupils with SEN.
- Assisting class teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
- Supporting students with their emotional, social, and behavioural needs.
- Communicating effectively with class teachers, support staff, and parents/carers.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of pupil progress.
- Adapting to various school environments and working styles.
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant within UK schools.
- A deep understanding of a range of SEN needs and the relevant strategies to support these needs.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work, able to respond positively to changing demands.
Desirable Criteria:
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (e.g., Team Teach, specific SEN qualifications).
- Experience with a range of SEN including (but not limited to) autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech and language difficulties.
- Experience working across various age ranges.
