Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (equivalent to £20,941.30 - £22,835.30 annually, based on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time Only
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1-2) to join our team in Darwen. You will work with students aged 10-19 who have complex needs, including Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and other related conditions.

Role Summary
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students' academic and personal development. Working alongside the class teacher, you will help plan and deliver lessons that meet individual needs, while creating a positive and supportive learning atmosphere. Your responsibilities will also include managing behaviour and promoting student well-being.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of learning activities.
- Provide regular feedback on student progress.
- Help students stay focused and manage their behaviour effectively.
- Monitor student development and maintain accurate records in line with school policies.
- Support students' academic, social, and emotional growth.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN).
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (required for transporting students on a rota basis).
- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - essential.
- Level 2 or higher qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
- A positive, flexible attitude and commitment to student success.
