SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (annual equivalent of £20,941.30 - £22,835.30, depending on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time Only

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1-2) to join our team in Darwen, assisting students aged 10-19 with complex needs such as Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and related conditions.

Position Overview ...

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting students' academic and personal growth. Collaborating with the class teacher, you will help design and deliver lessons tailored to individual needs while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will also focus on behaviour management and promoting the well-being of students.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of learning activities.
Provide regular feedback on student progress and development.
Support students in maintaining focus during lessons and managing their behaviour.
Keep accurate records of student progress according to school policies.
Encourage academic, social, and emotional development in students.

Requirements:

Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN).
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (necessary for transporting students on a rota).
GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - required.
A Level 2 or higher qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (preferred).
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
Positive, adaptable, and committed to helping students achieve success.
