The Role :
We are seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to work at a welcoming Special Educational Needs (SEN) School based in Bury St Edmunds.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students with a range of needs. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure that students have the tools and support they need to succeed in their education and daily lives. This role requires empathy, patience, flexibility, and a passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.

Your Responsibilities:
- Tailor support to address the unique learning requirements of students with SEN.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- Assist in maintaining classroom order, fostering a positive and stimulating learning atmosphere.
- Establish effective communication with parents, teachers, and external professionals.
- Regularly monitor and evaluate the academic and social progress of students with SEN.
- Adapt teaching materials and resources to accommodate diverse learning needs.
Requirements:
- Experience working or volunteering with SEND children (preferably with autism/ADHD experience).
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Caring and empathetic personality.
- Commitment to safeguarding children.
- A DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
