Role Overview :
We are looking for a Permanent SEN Teaching Assistant to work at a wonderful SEN school based in Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is compassionate, patient, and eager to support students with a variety of learning needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a tailored and supportive setting. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the classroom, ensuring they can access the curriculum and engage in learning activities. You will also work closely with the class Teacher to deliver individualised learning plans and provide targeted support.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the class teacher with delivering lessons and supporting individual students
- Providing one-to-one support to students with Special Educational Needs
- Helping students with tasks, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively
- Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a safe, inclusive classroom environment
- Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable)
- A patient, caring, and empathetic approach to working with students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work as part of a collaborative team
- A proactive attitude and the ability to use your initiative
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Relevant qualifications (such as Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable, but not essential
