A supportive and nurturing SEN school in Cambridge, is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their team and make a real difference in the lives of the students.
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll be an essential part of the students' educational journey, providing tailored support and encouragement to help them reach their full potential. Your role will involve:
- Working closely with individual students and small groups, both in the classroom and in other learning environments.
- Implementing individualised learning plans and strategies, developed in collaboration with teachers and therapists.
- Assisting students with their personal care needs (as required), promoting independence and dignity.
- Creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that fosters confidence and a love of learning.
- Building strong relationships with students, understanding their unique needs and communication styles.
- Communicating effectively with teachers, therapists, and parents/guardians to ensure a consistent and supportive approach for each child.
About You:
- You have a genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs and a strong belief in their ability to succeed.
- You are patient, understanding, and empathetic, with a calm and positive demeanour.
- You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and are comfortable adapting your approach to meet individual needs.
- Experience working in an SEN setting is desirable, but not essential, as full training will be provided.
