We are currently looking for Special Educational Needs TA across schools within the PR3 area to support learners with various Social, Emotional, Mental Health and behavioural needs. Randstad offers competitive pay rates ranging from £13.00 - £14.50 per hour.
The role of a Special Educational Needs (SEN) TA is to provide crucial support to students with special educational needs within a dynamic and inclusive learning environment. This role is to complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. The school requires the Special Support Assistant to work closely with the SENCO to contribute to the overall success and well-being of students, as well as to assist with intervention, group support or 1:1 support, which may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals / groups or short term for whole classes and monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupil's achievement, progress and development. .
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your classroom management skills and gain experience within a variety of settings, as well as learning more about varying curriculums and schemes across schools. Working within Supply has been successful at developing your skills and success with applications for long term and permanent roles.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to students with SEN in both academic and personal development
- Experience supporting SEMH and behavioural needs (non-verbal, ADHD etc.)
- Preparation of resources and activities for 1:1 support
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to organise to create an inclusive learning environment
- Liaise with various staff including Teachers, TA's, specialist support staff
- Review and support EHCP or care plan
- Work closely with other LSA's and support staff
- Working with classes, small groups and with children on a 1:1 basis
- Monitor and track the development of pupils, supporting their personal development and confidence.
Essential Requirements
- Experience of working with young people.
- Experience working with young people on a 1:1 basis
- Experience working with SEN or knowledge of learning difficulties
- Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours
- Good Class management skills.
- TA Qualified or working towards this.
