At Randstad, we are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to children with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the best possible learning experience in a primary school within the Leeds area.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
- Assist the teacher in delivering lessons, adapting materials to meet individual learning needs.
- Use behaviour management strategies to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Encourage students to develop independence, confidence, and social skills.
- Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and external specialists to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Support students with emotional regulation and well-being through positive reinforcement.
- Assist with personal care needs where necessary, ensuring the dignity and comfort of students.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents to support each child's development.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs in a school setting.
- Eligible to work in the UK without any restrictions (No Sponsorship).
- Knowledge of SEN strategies, including autism-friendly approaches and sensory support techniques.
- Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures in an educational environment.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students.
- Possess an Enhanced DBS or willingness to get one through Randstad.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists.
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic classroom setting.
- A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
- An Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
