The Role:
As SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students with a range of learning needs, ensuring they have equal access to educational opportunities. Working closely with teachers, SENCo, and support staff, you will implement personalised learning strategies, encourage positive behaviour, and help students build confidence and independence in a safe and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN, including those with autism, ADHD, and other learning needs.
- Assist in planning and delivering engaging, accessible lessons and activities.
- Support classroom teachers in managing behaviour and fostering a nurturing learning environment.
- Help implement and adapt Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
- Maintain effective communication with parents, teachers, and support staff to ensure continuity and holistic support.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, ideally in an educational setting.
- Must be able to provide 2 employment references.
- Must have eligibility to work in the UK.
- A caring and patient approach with a passion for helping every child succeed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
- Qualifications in Education, Child Development, or SEN are an advantage but not essential for the right candidate.
