About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students aged 11-16 with special educational needs, including Autism. Working closely with the teaching team, you'll provide in-class support and help with practical outdoor activities such as Bushcraft and life skills sessions. Your contribution will be key to their academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer personalised support, ensuring students' safety and well-being.
- Help students achieve goals set in their Education and Healthcare Plans (EHCPs).
- Implement positive behaviour strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and health and safety issues.
- Encourage social interaction and teamwork among students.
Who We're Looking For:
Experience isn't essential, but a positive attitude and dedication to supporting young people is. The ideal candidate will have:
- A genuine desire to work with young people and build supportive relationships.
- The ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
- A creative and problem-solving mindset.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills.
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent) preferred but not required.
