A Primary School, located in Oldham, is seeking an experienced and dynamic teacher to join our school community on a temporary basis from January to Easter 2024. This is a unique opportunity for a professional to gain valuable experience in a supportive environment, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role following the initial contract.
Role Overview: This role is split between two key responsibilities:
- 50% SENCO: Oversee and manage the Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision within the school, ensuring that all children with additional learning needs are supported effectively.
- 50% EYFS Teaching Cover: Provide high-quality teaching and support for the Early Years Foundation Stage. (Alternatively, if preferred, this can be adjusted to 50% KS2 teaching cover.)
We are also open to discussing a future permanent role, with potential opportunities for career progression into senior leadership, including the chance to develop into a Deputy Headteacher.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the SEN provision in the school, working closely with class teachers, parents, and external agencies to provide tailored support for SEN children.
- Deliver engaging and effective EYFS or KS2 lessons, in line with the school curriculum, to ensure all children thrive and achieve their potential.
- Monitor and track student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Provide guidance and support for colleagues regarding SEN and best teaching practices.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching in either EYFS or KS2.
- Experience as a SENCO, or a strong desire to develop in this role.
- Passionate about inclusive education and working with children with additional needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
- Enthusiastic and adaptable, with a commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.
- Willingness to grow professionally and take on leadership opportunities within the school.
