Role Overview
As SENCo, you will work closely with a committed team, including in-house psychologists, teaching assistants, and therapeutic staff, to create individualised strategies for students with complex needs. You will lead and build upon our SEN department, providing critical support to teaching staff and ensuring our school's approach aligns with the schools high standards of student care and academic support.
Key Responsibilities
- Student-Centred Support: Develop and oversee learning strategies for students with SEN, promoting independence and confidence.
- Team Collaboration: Work with teachers and support staff to design and implement SEN support tailored to each student's needs.
- Leadership and Compliance: Maintain school compliance with SEN policies, monitor progress, and provide regular training for staff.
- Parental Engagement: Communicate with families to share student progress and foster collaborative support systems.
Who We're Looking For
- Qualified: Must have Qualified Teacher Status and hold the National SENCo Qualification.
- Experienced: Previous teaching experience with SEN students, ideally within ASD and SEMH settings.
- Compassionate Leader: A team-oriented approach with a genuine passion for transforming young lives through education.
- Adaptable: Flexible, patient, and resilient, with a 'can do' attitude and the ability to create positive, lasting relationships with students and staff alike.
