SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (Take home salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30, based on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time Only
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1-2) to join our team in Darwen. In this role, you will work with students aged 10-19 who have a variety of complex needs, including Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and related conditions.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students' academic and personal development, helping to foster a safe and encouraging learning environment. You'll collaborate closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver tailored lessons, as well as manage students' well-being and behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and assessment of learning activities.
- Provide regular feedback on student progress and development.
- Monitor and report on student growth, following school guidelines.
- Help students stay focused and support positive behaviour management.
- Encourage students' social, emotional, and academic progress.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for rota-based student transport).
- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or higher) - essential.
- Level 2 or higher qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (desirable).
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
- Positive, flexible attitude with a commitment to helping students succeed.
