SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (equivalent to £20,941.30 - £22,835.30 annually, based on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time Only

We are seeking a motivated SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1-2) to join our team in Darwen. In this role, you will support students aged 10-19 with a variety of complex needs, including Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and related conditions.

Role Overview ...

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in assisting students with their academic and personal development. Working closely with the class teacher, you will help plan and deliver tailored lessons while fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. Behaviour management and student well-being will also be key responsibilities.

Main Responsibilities:

Assist in planning, delivering, and assessing learning activities.
Provide regular feedback on student progress.
Help students stay focused and support behaviour management.
Monitor student development and maintain accurate records.
Encourage students' academic, social, and emotional development.

Skills and Experience:

Experience working with SEN children.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (required for student transport on a rota).
GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - essential.
Level 2 or higher qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (preferred).
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
