SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (equivalent to £20,941.30 - £22,835.30 annually, depending on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time Only

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1-2) to join our team in Darwen, supporting students aged 10-19 with complex needs such as Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and related conditions.

Role Overview ...

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will help students thrive both academically and personally. Working closely with the class teacher, you'll assist in planning and delivering lessons tailored to individual needs, while fostering a supportive and positive learning atmosphere. You will also be responsible for managing behaviour and promoting student well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the planning, delivery, and assessment of learning activities.
Provide regular feedback on student progress.
Assist students in staying engaged and managing their behaviour effectively.
Maintain accurate records of student development in line with school policies.
Foster students' academic, social, and emotional growth.

Requirements:

Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN).
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for student transport on a rota basis).
GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - required.
A Level 2 or higher qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (preferred).
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
