Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead SEND provision across the school, ensuring it meets the needs of all students in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
- Develop and implement strategies to support students with diverse learning needs, working alongside teachers and support staff.
- Oversee the creation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEND.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Foster a whole-school approach to inclusion, ensuring all pupils feel valued and supported.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with substantial experience in teaching.
- Specialist knowledge in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including an understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
- Leadership experience in a school setting, with the ability to lead and manage a team of teaching assistants and support staff.
- Strong ability to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with staff, parents, external agencies, and other professionals.
- Organisational skills to manage multiple priorities and ensure compliance with SEND policies and procedures.
- A passion for inclusion and a commitment to ensuring all students have access to a high-quality education tailored to their individual needs.
- Knowledge of assistive technology and strategies to support learning for students with SEND is desirable.
- An understanding of current safeguarding procedures and the ability to promote a safe and supportive learning environment.
