Key Responsibilities
Key tasks and responsibilities include the following:
Financial management and reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly financial and management reporting packs for institutional clients
- Monitor service charge accounts and property-related financial transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Proactively manage the finance relationship with internal and external service providers including the establishment and monitoring of service level agreements.
- Analyse financial data to identify areas for improvement and provide actionable insights.
- Develop and monitor KPIs to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning initiatives.
- Co-ordinate with key stakeholders to ensure that reporting commitments for each of the properties are met and that any issues are appropriately resolved on a timely basis.
- Oversee the financial management of the portfolio ensuring all key reconciliations are completed appropriately and with supporting documentation.
- Working with internal colleagues and external consultants to ensure compliance with filing obligations relevant to the property portfolio.
- Provide support to colleagues in the Accounts Payable and Cash Management teams to resolve queries and ensure that both the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable subledgers are maintained to a high standard, accurate and up to date.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will need the following skills, knowledge, and experience:
- ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified accountant with over 5 years of post-qualification experience in a senior finance position.
- In-depth understanding of financial principles, operational processes, and industry best practices.
- Proven experience in managing accounting functions, driving process improvements, and overseeing month-end and year-end close activities across multiple entities, including financial and management reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions to achieve quick results, and challenge existing practices and policies.
- Experience in driving financial and operational improvements, particularly through the use of technology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to foster strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
