Shifts - The successful candidate will work on 3 shifts (first, second, and night shift). Please see the shift schedule below. Additionally, the successful candidate would currently need to cover weekend shifts at the wind tunnel, so are alternating employees to work on weekends as well. - To attend Wind Tunnel tests, and perform changes in the Wind Tunnel on the model under direction of the Duty Aerodynamicist.
- To ensure that all tasks are carried out to our exacting standards within tight deadlines.
- Work with the Model shop, Designers & Aerodynamicists to develop our scale models and working practices to assist in the development of our F1 car.
- Create and maintain good communication with the whole department to ensure we continue to progress.
- Maintain and promote the highest standards of quality and workmanship on all components and projects.
- Execute the day-to-day tasks, providing a flexible approach and dedication to our continued development.
To investigate and implement new techniques.
Work in a professional manner at all times regardless of the task set and be pro-active in promoting a positive image for the department / team/ sponsors.
Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of the projects.
Experience
- Automotive and engineering working experience ideally in F1
- Familiarity with digital measurement and scanning systems such as Leica or Creaform and the associated software.
- Familiarity with pressure tap checking and management.
- Ability to interrogate CAD assemblies.
- Strong knowledge of model mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to work to a high standard under tight time restrictions in a dynamic environment.
- Able to suggest improvements to the construction of the models and process and constantly think of improvements and developments to help us evolve.
- Able to deal with technical challenges as they arise and know when to ask if unsure.
- Be proactively aware of Health and Safety requirements.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal, combined with the ability to work well with colleagues.
- Work well under pressure to meet time critical deadlines.
