My client delivers sustainable engineering solutions in mechanical, electrical, and telecommunication fields with expertise across various sectors, including Rail, Highways, Power, and Tunnels.
They are currently seeking multiple Senior Quantity Surveyors to join their Commercial team. in this role, you will be responsible for supporting various projects to ensure they meet financial targets, maximise profit through effective cost control, and optimise variations.

Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Project Managers to ensure commercial and financial targets are met.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Provide accurate reporting on project performance, including PHR, CVR, cash flow, and weekly updates.
- Manage the project budget and provide regular commercial forecasts.
- Carry out valuations for initial, interim, and final payment applications.
- Oversee sub-contractor and supplier accounts, ensuring alignment with contracts and upstream requirements.
- Identify, notify, and manage changes (variations, compensation events, claims).
- Maximise recovery of contractual entitlements in collaboration with the Commercial Manager.
- Ensure projects are managed in accordance with contract terms, including timely notices and applications.
- Maintain contemporary records to support claims, extensions of time, and variations.
- Support tender processes as needed.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise commercial impact.
- Promote and maintain professional working relationships.
What We Are Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience with NEC forms of contacts
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Project).
- Experience in valuation techniques for construction works, including elemental cost analysis of labour, materials, plant, sub-contracts, and general expenses.
- Ability to analyse programs and measure Earned Value.
- Strong understanding of project cost and value forecasting.
- Familiarity with cost management tools and cost-saving techniques.
Desired:
- Detailed knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Knowledge of JCT contracts.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent.
- Full UK driving license.
- Valid CSCS card.
Desired:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Professional memberships such as RICS, CIOB, ICES, or equivalent.
