Our client is a leading contractor renowned for delivering high-quality Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) projects across the Central Belt. With a portfolio of prestigious projects and a strong pipeline, they are seeking a dedicated and experienced M&E Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team.
Role Overview: As an M&E Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of M&E projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that all financial and contractual matters are handled efficiently, contributing to the overall success and profitability of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Management:
- Prepare, review, and manage project budgets and cost plans.
- Monitor and control project expenditure to ensure alignment with budgets.
- Conduct regular cost reporting and forecasting to senior management.
Contract Administration:
- Manage the procurement process, including the preparation of tender documents, evaluation of bids, and contract negotiation.
- Administer contracts from award to final account, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Handle variations, claims, and dispute resolution.
Project Coordination:
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of financial matters.
- Provide financial advice and support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and financial status.
Risk Management:
- Identify and manage project risks, including cost overruns and contractual disputes.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Client Liaison:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing any financial or contractual queries.
- Ensure client satisfaction through effective financial management and reporting.
Team Leadership:
- Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors and other team members.
- Foster a collaborative and positive working environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional membership with RICS or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in quantity surveying within the M&E sector.
- Proven track record in managing the financial aspects of M&E projects.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and cost control.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
