Job Description:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be a key player in managing the financial aspects of our construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead the cost management process from inception to completion and play a crucial role in optimising project profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and valuations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis, risk assessments, and value engineering to maximise project profitability.
- Lead the procurement process, including tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Oversee contract administration and manage variations, claims, and disputes effectively.
- Collaborate with project teams to monitor progress and address any financial or contractual issues promptly.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior quantity surveyors, fostering their professional development.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Prepare and present financial reports and performance analyses to senior management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficient in industry-standard software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel across the North East.
