We are seeking committed Senior Children's Residential Practitioners to join a highly regarded and forward-thinking children's residential provider in East Lothian. Responsibilities:
- Working with Children and Young People who have a range of support needs - emotional, behavioural difficulties, family breakdown, disabilities
- Support children in managing their behavior, offering guidance and techniques to handle emotional outbursts or difficult situations.
- Provide day-to-day care, supervision, and emotional support to children and young people in the residential home.
- Provide leadership and supervision to junior staff and support their development
- Participate in the recruitment, training, and induction of new staff
- Develop and implement care plans that focus on the individual needs of children and young people.
- Take responsibility for the safety and well-being of all children and young people in care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including daily logs, incident reports, and progress updates.
Shift Patterns:
- Full-time: 24-hour shifts (including 8-hour sleepover) on a 9-week rolling rota (3 days on, 3 days off).
- Part-time: 12-hour shifts (10 am - 10 pm) or 6-hour shifts (10 am - 4 pm / 4 pm - 10 pm).
To be considered for the Residential Practitioner role, ideally you will have:
- HNC/SVQ Level 3- Children & Young People or equivalent
- 2 + years children's residential or similar experience of working with Children and Young People
- Clean Driving License
- Able to work unsocial hours including weekends (rota basis)
