About The Role
As a Senior Science Technician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our students have access to safe, well-organised experiments, and that our science department runs smoothly. You will be an integral part of a supportive and collaborative team, with opportunities for professional development and growth.

Position Details:
Location: Sheffield
Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week x 41 weeks per year
Pay scale: £25,584 to £27,711 per annum
Essential Requirements
... - BTEC Certificate in Lab Organisation & Management (or equivalent).
- A minimum of one year's experience coordinating lab work in a school environment.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
Skills
- Knowledge of ICT and Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to staff and students.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with staff and students.
- First Aid Certificate (Training will be provided).
Responsibilities
- Prepare chemicals, materials, and equipment for science lessons.
- Maintain and manage inventories of chemicals, materials, and technical equipment.
- Lead and assist in training/developing other Science Technicians.
- Ensure compliance with COSHH regulations and risk assessments.
- Provide technical advice on safety matters and equipment use.
- Support the Head of Science with budgeting, orders, and deliveries.
- Transport materials and equipment between laboratories.
- Liaise with premises staff to ensure laboratories are in good condition.
- Be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly working environment.
- Provide support for other areas of the school, as required.
