Randstad are supporting a Barnsley based client to recruit for a experienced Senior Social Worker within their children in care team.
Job Overview: As a Senior Social Worker within the Children in Care Team, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of children and young people in care, providing supervision and support to junior social workers, and working closely with other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children and families. This is a challenging but highly rewarding role that offers the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a complex caseload of children and young people in care.
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop comprehensive care plans.
- Provide supervision, guidance, and support to junior social workers and other team members.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, including health, education, and legal professionals.
- Participate in case conferences, court proceedings, and other relevant meetings.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
- Contribute to service development and improvement initiatives.
Essential Requirements:
- A degree in Social Work and current registration with Social Work England.
- Significant post-qualification experience in a children's social care setting.
- Proven experience of working with children in care and their families.
- Excellent assessment, planning, and intervention skills.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Experience in supervising and supporting junior staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
Hourly rate - £35ph
