Senior Social Worker - Safeguarding Duty & Assessment
Location: Telford and Wrekin Council
Rate: £33.30 per hour
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Social Worker to join the Safeguarding Duty & Assessment team at Telford and Wrekin Council. In this role, you will manage a complex caseload, conduct high-quality assessments, and provide expert evidence in court proceedings.
Responsibilities:
...- Manage a caseload with varying levels of complexity, prioritizing the safety and well-being of children.
- Lead on complex safeguarding assessments, ensuring thorough and evidence-based practice.
- Provide expert testimony and evidence in court proceedings.
- Exercise high-quality judgment in challenging situations, demonstrating confidence and autonomy.
- Effectively assess situations, determine appropriate interventions, and anticipate potential outcomes.
- Integrate professional knowledge, service user perspectives, and research evidence into practice.
- Take initiative to broaden and deepen your repertoire of responses to complex cases.
- Maintain expertise in relevant areas of practice and actively participate in local and national resource networks.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing complex social work caseloads, particularly in safeguarding and assessment.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough and evidence-based assessments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and other professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Registration with Social Work England.
