About the Role:

Are you an experienced and driven Social Worker with a passion for safeguarding children and leading positive change? Bridgend County Borough Council is looking for a Senior Social Worker to join the Children's Intake and Assessment Team on a temporary basis. In this senior role, you will play a crucial part in the initial stages of intervention, leading assessments and decision-making processes that directly impact the safety and well-being of children and families.

As a Senior Social Worker, you will manage complex cases, provide guidance and support to junior team members, and work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to ensure a comprehensive and effective response to referrals. This role is ideal for a skilled social worker looking to step into a leadership position and make a significant impact while earning a competitive hourly rate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Supervision: Provide leadership and support to social workers within the Intake and Assessment Team, offering guidance on complex cases and ensuring high standards of practice.
• Complex Case Management: Handle a caseload of complex and high-risk cases, conducting detailed assessments and developing appropriate intervention plans.
• Decision-Making: Lead decision-making processes at the point of referral, ensuring that all actions prioritise the safety and well-being of children.
• Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with professionals from other agencies, such as health, education, and law enforcement, to gather information and provide a coordinated response to referrals.
• Safeguarding: Ensure that all child protection procedures are followed, including participation in strategy discussions, child protection conferences, and core group meetings.
• Crisis Intervention: Lead and manage crisis situations, providing immediate intervention to protect children at risk.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of all assessments, decisions, and actions using the case management system.
• Mentorship: Mentor and support junior social workers, helping to develop their skills and confidence in handling complex cases.

Minimum Requirements:
-SCW Registration
-2 year post qualifying experience within UK
-Eligibility to work in the UK
