Are you a mechanically biased building services engineer looking for your next challenge in a high-performing critical environment? We are working with a leading FM service provider to recruit a Multi-Skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer to join a flagship commercial office site in the heart of Central London. This is a high-rise, mission-critical building requiring engineers with attention to detail, high standards of safety, and excellent technical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks across mechanical and building services systems.
Servicing and maintaining HVAC equipment, chilled water systems, CRAC units, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors, valves, and fan coil systems.
Basic electrical fault-finding and reactive support (lighting, power, emergency lighting, control panels).
Working within a critical environment, ensuring up time of systems and rapid response to building services issues.
Monitoring BMS systems and responding to alerts.
Liaising with site supervisors, shift leads, and clients to deliver a first-class service.
Supporting with health & safety, compliance checks, and contractor supervision.
Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with safety procedures and industry standards.
Requirements:
NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of mechanical building services systems in commercial buildings.
Basic electrical understanding and 18th Edition (desirable).
Experience in a critical or high-end commercial office environment is highly preferred.
Comfortable working a continental shift pattern (days & nights).
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
