We're seeking a dynamic and dedicated Site Manager / Construction Manager to join the team, working for a leading utilities subcontractor on the prestigious HS2 project. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a transformative infrastructure development while leading a team and delivering critical utilities infrastructure for the UK's future.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading and managing all aspects of site operations for the utilities project on HS2, ensuring efficient and safe execution of works.
- Overseeing the work of subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders, ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Implementing and maintaining strict health and safety protocols on site.
- Liaising with HS2 Ltd representatives, project stakeholders, and external bodies.
- Managing budgets, resources, and timelines effectively to achieve project goals.
- Monitoring progress, reporting on performance, and resolving any issues promptly.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or Construction Manager on major infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on utilities (e.g., water, gas, electricity, telecommunications).
- A thorough understanding of construction techniques, health and safety regulations, and quality control processes within the utilities sector.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
- Strong risk management and problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., project management software, AutoCAD).
