Responsibilities:
As a Social Worker within our Adults with Learning Disabilities team, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals to live fulfilling and independent lives. You will be responsible for:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals' needs and strengths, working collaboratively with them, their families, and carers.
- Developing and implementing person-centred support plans that promote independence, choice, and control.
- Providing ongoing support, advice, and guidance to individuals and their networks.
- Working in partnership with a range of agencies including health professionals, housing providers, and voluntary organisations.
- Safeguarding vulnerable adults in accordance with local policies and procedures.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of the service.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A qualified and registered Social Worker - SSSC registered
- Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities is essential
- A full driving license and access to a vehicle is desirable due to the rural nature of Orkney
