About the Role:
As a Social Worker within our Child Protection Team, you will be responsible for:
- Managing a complex caseload of children and families at risk of harm.
- Conducting thorough assessments and investigations in line with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Developing and implementing robust child protection plans in collaboration with families, partner agencies, and other professionals.
- Providing direct support and intervention to children and families, including home visits, individual work, and group work.
- Preparing and presenting reports for Child Protection Case Conferences, Children's Hearings, and court proceedings.
- Working effectively in a multi-agency setting, building strong relationships with health, education, police, and voluntary sector partners.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with data protection regulations.
- Participating in team meetings, supervision, and training to ensure continuous professional development.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW).
- Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Social Worker.
- Demonstrable experience of working within child protection services, including assessment, planning, and intervention.
- A thorough understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to child protection in Scotland.
- Excellent assessment and analytical skills with the ability to identify and evaluate risk.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and professionals.
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a supportive team.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
- A commitment to continuous professional development.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
