About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and committed Social Worker to join Wrexham's Child Protection Team on an agency basis. This role involves working with children and families to ensure their safety and well-being, conducting assessments, and delivering interventions to protect children at risk of harm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safeguarding, risk assessment, and multi-agency working.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need Plans, and Looked After Children cases.
- Conduct assessments under the Children Act 1989, including Section 47 Child Protection investigations.
- Develop and implement robust safeguarding plans to reduce risk and improve child welfare.
- Work closely with families, partner agencies, and professionals to ensure a multi-agency approach to child protection.
- Attend and contribute to Child Protection Conferences, Core Group Meetings, Strategy Meetings, and Legal Planning Meetings.
- Prepare high-quality reports and court statements, and attend court hearings when required.
- Ensure all work complies with legislation, policies, and best practice guidelines.
Requirements:
- Degree in Social Work
- Social Work Wales Registration
