The Vale of Glamorgan are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Social Worker to join their dynamic team in their Child and Young People Services. The Family Support Team is committed to working collaboratively with families to develop long-term plans that prioritise the well-being of children. We believe in leveraging the strengths of families and their networks to create safe and nurturing environments. From planning and review for children in care to providing support for families involved in child protection plans, our team is involved in every aspect of the journey towards positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with families to identify their needs, strengths, and goals, and develop comprehensive plans to address them
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to families to minimise risks to children and promote resilience
• Collaborate with other professionals, including family aides, social care officers, and business support staff, to ensure holistic support for families
• Maintain a manageable caseload of 20-22 children, adjusting as necessary based on the complexity of the work
• Conduct assessments, interventions, and reviews to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people
• Advocate for the rights and best interests of children and families within legal frameworks and court proceedings

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with families and collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
• Commitment to professional development and ongoing learning
