About the Role:
As an Agency Social Worker in the Family Support Team, you will play a crucial role in supporting children, young people, and families in the Vale of Glamorgan. You will focus on delivering timely, effective interventions aimed at strengthening family relationships and ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse caseload: Work with children in need, those on the child protection register, and families requiring support to prevent family breakdown.
- Undertake assessments: Conduct thorough family assessments to identify strengths, risks, and needs, ensuring child-centred outcomes.
- Safeguard children: Implement safeguarding measures in line with statutory guidelines, ensuring the safety and protection of vulnerable children.
- Provide family support: Work directly with families to develop tailored support plans, offering practical advice and guidance to help them overcome challenges.
- Multi-agency working: Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, and other professionals to ensure integrated support for families.
- Prepare reports and attend meetings: Write detailed reports and attend relevant meetings, including child protection case conferences and core group meetings.
What We're Looking For:
- Qualified Social Worker: Recognised qualification in Social Work (e.g., BA/MA Social Work, DipSW).
- Registered with Social Care Wales (or eligible for registration).
- Experience in family support or children's services: Proven ability to work with vulnerable children and families, including experience in child protection and safeguarding.
