The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Social Worker to join our dedicated Kinship Care Team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for undertaking comprehensive assessments of potential kinship carers for children who are unable to live with their parents. This will involve:
- Conducting thorough and robust assessments of prospective kinship carers, adhering to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Gathering and analysing information from a variety of sources, including interviews with family members, background checks, and existing agency records.
- Preparing clear, concise, and analytical assessment reports, providing evidence-based recommendations regarding the suitability of kinship placements.
- Working collaboratively with children, families, foster carers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children.
- Providing support and guidance to kinship carers throughout the assessment process.
- Contributing to the development and delivery of training and support for kinship carers.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with Council policy and data protection regulations.
- Participating in team meetings, supervision, and relevant training opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW).
- Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Social Worker.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
