Our primary is an academy based in Blackpool, FY4 area code. This school has great transportation routes with a bus stop directly outside and an accessible school car park and local parking options allowing a safe and easy commute. The school boasts an inclusive and supportive environment, which also includes a SURF provision attached for SEND students.. The collective mindset and aim of the staff and pupils is to produce kind and caring attitudes that promote wellness, thoughtful encouragement and support among one another.
We are currently seeking a 1:1 TA with a strong knowledge and experience in SEN, someone who is able to build trust with the pupils they work with. The role will be based in a year 3 class to support a child 1:1, however you may be asked to cross support other children as and when needed. Ideally you will have a skill set that can support varied needs, enable you to build rapport with the child, incorporate and adapt activities, incentives and the child's likes into successful learning. This role requires the support of a TA Monday - Friday 8:30-3:30, term time, with an immediate start, pending vetting checks. Rates start at £13.50 per hour based on experience.
Key responsibilities:
... - Support your pupil with their learning, behaviour and social awareness in a 1:1 capacity.
- Collaborate with the class teacher regarding targets and expectations.
- Liaise with other professionals within the School eg. SENCO, Teachers, TAs, specialist support staff.
- Support the monitoring and tracking of all pupils in line with the assessment procedures in school.
- Helping support the class teacher with IEP's
- To develop knowledge and understanding of the specific academic, physical and emotional/behavioural/medical needs of the child and respond to them effectively
- To assist the class teacher/SENCo with the planning, development and delivery of suitable programmes of work for the pupil.
- To support class teachers to design, create and produce learning activities, materials and resources to support aspects of the curriculum or particular learning outcomes, and to assist and support the child in using them.
- To help, support and motivate the child, clarifying instructions, encouraging independent learning
Essential Requirements:
- Must have knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
- Knowledge of development matters
- Must be an outgoing individual with an ability to engage with pupils to have FUN while learning
- Must be able to work collaboratively and competently within a team
- Must be able to engage learners through play
- Must have childcare Level 2 or above.
Desirable Requirements:
- An understanding of SEN or learning needs.
- Knowledge of the new KS1 and KS2 curriculum.
- Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
