I am currently working with a specialist school who are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a school that offers a nurturing and supportive environment for children with diverse needs whilst also helping them to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' speech, language, and communication needs.
- Develop and implement individualised therapy plans tailored to meet the specific needs of each student.
- Provide direct therapy sessions to students, both individually and in small groups.
- Collaborate with teachers and other specialists to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Develop and deliver training to staff on strategies for supporting students with communication difficulties.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress.
- Work closely with parents and families to share information and discuss therapy plans.
The ideal Speech and Language Therapist will have:
- A relevant qualification in Speech and Language Therapy (e.g., BSc, MSc) and current registration with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
- Experience working with children with a range of SEN, including specific learning difficulties, autism, and communication disorders.
- A strong understanding of best practices in assessment, intervention, and therapy for children with communication needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues.
- A passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children and a commitment to promoting inclusive practices.
