Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
- Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom where all pupils feel valued and supported
- Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them develop
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive learning atmosphere
- Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and other staff to support individual learning needs
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers to foster strong home-school partnerships
- Encourage creativity, curiosity, and independence in young learners
- Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and school events
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching in KS1
- Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and assessment requirements
- Excellent classroom management skills with a positive and engaging teaching style
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN pupils
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
