We are looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Leeds. This role requires a good understanding of phonics packages, particularly Read Write Inc, to support early reading development and literacy skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of Read Write Inc and other phonics-based programs
- Assist the class teacher in creating an engaging and structured learning environment
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils who need additional help with reading and writing
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers
- Encourage a love for learning and reading in young children
- Support classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning atmosphere
Requirements:
- Experience working in a primary school setting (preferred)
- Knowledge of Read Write Inc and phonics-based teaching methods
- A patient, enthusiastic, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
