About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Support Coordinator to join our team. This role is pivotal in providing both practical support and leadership to a small team, ensuring the well-being of individuals within their local community. You will play an essential part in empowering people to take control of their lives, respecting their independence while fostering strong community connections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, person-centered support aligned with individual Support Plans and Working Policies.
- Lead, manage, and inspire a dedicated support team, ensuring all members understand and deliver on the individual's needs and wishes.
- Ensure that each person is able to move their life forward looking for real community connections, friends, hobbies, interests, work and being creative and challenging about the paid support provided.
- Facilitate effective communication among support staff, families, friends, and professionals.
- Organise team meetings, manage staff rotas, and recruit new team members using person-centered approaches.
- Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Take on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis (minimum 1 week in every 4), including responding to emergencies and covering shifts as needed.
- Oversee and manage resources effectively, including staff hours and individual budgets.
- Provide induction, supervision, and continuous development opportunities for team members.
What We're Looking For:
- Level 3 NVQ / QCF in health & Social Care
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- A proactive, responsible, and compassionate approach to support work.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative, and handle on-call responsibilities effectively.
- Experience in support work or a similar role is highly desirable.
- Ability to travel to service locations within 30 minutes when on-call.
