The Role:
- As a Support Worker, you'll be working within a 2-2-1 environment, directly supporting a young man with autism and learning disabilities within their own home
- Supporting this individual in engaging in meaningful activities, whether it's arts and crafts, taking them out into the community, outings to the cinema, shopping, or local events.
- Tailoring your support to meet the unique needs of the specific individual, building a meaningful relationship within a 2-2-1 environment and providing much needed emotional support to a young man with learning disabilities
- Encouraging and facilitating independence in a safe and supportive manner.
- Utilising effective strategies to breakdown communication barriers and reinforce positive behavior for the young man.
- Understanding and being comfortable with challenging behavior and being able to reinforce a positive outcome during these difficult moments, showing empathy and patience.
What We're Looking For:
- A minimum of 1-2 years in a UK social care setting, preferably within a care home or care at home environment.
- Should have experience in learning disability, autism and handling challenging behaviour.
- Driver's Licence: Should be a driver and a valid driver's licence is mandate
- Flexibility to work a 24hrs of care, to work long shifts and sleepovers
- A strong work ethic, compassion, and dedication to making a difference.
