We're on the lookout for enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants in Preston who have previous experience working in a PRU, SEN setting, or with students who have additional learning needs to help support our KS3 and KS4 students and teachers. As a PRU Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in helping students re-engage with learning, improve their behaviour, and build their self-esteem. You'll help students overcome barriers to learning, encouraging positive behaviour and promoting resilience. You will also be working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide one-on-one and group support, ensuring that each student receives the tailored assistance they need to succeed.

Responsibilities:
- Reading, writing and SPAG support.
- Adjusting or breaking down activities to support participation and understanding.
- Develop a supportive relationship with the child that promotes self esteem and confidence.
- To develop knowledge and understanding of the specific academic, physical, emotional and behavioural needs of the child and respond to them effectively.
- To liaise with the Teacher and SENCO about the development and support needed at home and in school for the child.
- To provide the whole class, small groups and 1:1 support.
- Monitor and maintain records of the pupils progress.
- To assist with general school duties which may include setting up classrooms, preparing resources and displays and tidying and clearing away
- Supervision of children during lunch times and Supervision of children entering and leaving school premises.
Requirements:
- Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
- Ability to engage with, and build rapport with the students.
- Be creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style.
- Have experience with SEN or knowledge learning difficulties.
- TA qualified.
