About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Computing Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Harrogate. This full-time position starts from Easter and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for extension. Position Details

- Contract: Full time role
- Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)
Requirements:
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Strong subject knowledge across areas such as programming, networks, and data representation.
Skills
- Understanding of the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and software development.
- Experience leading or participating in extracurricular computing activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to inspire and challenge students of all abilities.
- Familiarity with the assessment and marking requirements for GCSE and A-Level Computing.
- Enthusiasm for innovation in teaching methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in Computing and ICT.
- Deliver lessons in coding, cybersecurity, networking, databases, and computational thinking.
- Assess and monitor students' progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Adapt teaching methods to support different learning styles and abilities.
- Prepare students for GCSE and/or A-Level examinations.
- Encourage students to develop problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Promote safe and responsible use of technology.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop resources and strategies.
- Contribute to extracurricular computing activities such as coding clubs or competitions.
- Ensure high standards of classroom management and student behaviour.
