About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Teacher of Computer Science to join a secondary school in Leeds. This part-time position focuses primarily on teaching GCSE and ideally A level students. The role is to commence after February half term.

The school's goal is to provide a nurturing and stimulating learning environment where every student feels valued and supported. They are committed to offering a high-quality education, enriching opportunities, and a strong focus on the well-being of both students and staff. Ofsted Inspection judged Ilkley Grammar School as an Outstanding school in all areas.

Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)

Essential Requirements

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Eligibility to work in the UK.
A passion for teaching and inspiring students in Computer Science
An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Skills:

Strong subject knowledge in Computer Science
Strong communication skills to engage and inspire students.
Ability to contribute innovative ideas to a team and department.
Strong IT skills, including using educational software
Knowledge of exam board specifications for GCSE and A-Level Computer Science
Building a positive rapport with students and colleagues.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Creativity and innovation to support student's practical learning.
Ability to provide constructive feedback to students and parents on progress.

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons.
Inspire and motivate students to develop a love for Computer Science and achieve their academic potential.
Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback on students' progress.
Develop and implement effective schemes of work and lesson plans.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Computer Science curriculum.
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations, ensuring high standards of attainment.
Participate in departmental meetings, sharing best practices and resources.
Engage in professional development to keep up with emerging trends in technology and education.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
